About

The Beginning

I first got the idea to make this modpack when I tried searching "optifine for fabric" on google. Of course, I couldn't find anything, because OptiFine itself doesn't support Fabric. There are projects like OptiFabric, but they don't work very well due to OptiFine's closed-source nature. I started searching for optimization modpacks, and found that they all had bloating features, didn't support the extra mods I wanted to add, or just didn't give enough performance. So I set out to create the best, closest experience you can get to OptiFine on the Fabric mod loader. And that's how OptiFine for Fabric began.

Why the name?

Many people have asked my why I call the modpack what I do instead of something new and flashy. The reason for this is because of what I went through to find a good alternative to OptiFine. I don't want other people to have to spend hours of their time just to find a good modpack. "OptiFine for Fabric" is easy to find for new players as well as easy to remember!
